SOUNDTRACK

Get the "La Epoca" Soundtrack by the Christmas and holiday season this year!!!!!  The "La Epoca " Soundtrack is available for purchase right now for its Christmas and holiday release. The CD is available to be purchased as Christmas and holiday gifts for your loved ones.

The "La Epoca" Soundtrack includes the original recordings of Arsenio Rodriguez, which are played in the actual movie AND the soundtrack also includes original music composed by Executive Producer Josue Joseph featuring the TRADITIONAL instruments and rhythms of Latin music, which are rarely heard in "Salsa" of today.

The soundtrack also features the theme song, which has become the most-requested track called "Vale Mas," which features Palladium-era legendary musicians Charlie Rodriguez on tres and Alfonso "El Panameno" Joseph on bass with his son and daughter: Executive Producer Josue Joseph on piano and Raquel-Maria on lead vocals. It's a gorgeous track - done with the intention of demonstrating the unity and collaboration of "family" (Alfonso "El Panameno" Joseph with his children Josue Joseph and Raquel-Maria) and emonstrating a rhythm very rarely heard today: Guajira-Son.

One of the other most-requested tracks is called "Esto Suena," which was written in memory and dedication to Cuban bassist Israel "Cachao" Lopez, who was a Mambo rhythm pioneer. One of Cachao's family members personally asked Josue to write a track in memory of Cachao and to make it most-unique by featuring Josue's father, Alfonso "El Panameno" as the bassist - playing the way Alfonso and Cachao played during the days of the Palladium-era, since they both were the two most in-demand bassists who often substituted for each. This track is a traditional mambo.

One of the other tracks is called "Bailo en Clave," which is also a standard mambo, featuring Alfonso "El Panameno" Joseph on bass - playing Afro-Cuban bass-pattern and taking an "arco" solo (playing with the bow). This track is played in the movie in the first 20 minutes of the film with dancer "Cuban Pete" dancing mambo with Barbara Craddock. "Bailo en Clave" actually means "I Dance Inside the Rhythm."

Another track featured is a beautiful Guajira-Son rhythm called "No Debo," which was written for the loyal Rumbero Cha-Cha-Cha dancers, who enjoy an extended amount of time dancing very passionately and intimately. This tracks features 3 Palladium-era musicians reuniting for the FIRST time in over 30 years - Charlie Rodriguez on tres, Alfonso "El Panameno" Joseph on bass and Luis Mangual on bongo.

The soundtrack features other musicians taking lead such as jazz trumpeter Rich Willey and multi-talented musician Grant Cuthbertson on maracas, guiro, clave and on bass in several of the tracks, and highly-trained Anthony Manuele on guitar.

"By the grace of God, I was given the opportunity to produce this movie with the idea of featuring rhythms that no longer exist in 'commercial' Latin music which, in present day, is called 'Salsa,' shared Executive Producer Josue Joseph in an interview with a Greenville, South Carolina journalist on August 29 at the movie premiere. "The thought also came to me that not only should I write music featuring these rhythms such as Guajira-Son and traditional Mambo, but that I should also record them with the traditional instruments that much of 'Salsa' has removed, such as the guiro, the maracas, the clave and Afro-Cuban bass syncopation. When one listens to the music featured in this film, one quickly notices that this music is not 'Salsa.' One hears standard Mambo and Guajira-Son rhythms. It's gorgeous."

As producers are traveling from city-to-city right now - the most frequently-asked question is: where can we buy the DVD? Buy it here, right now!

An advanced release of the DVD is the "theatrical version" of the movie "La Epoca" as its being shown now in clubs and universities. However, there is ALSO the "Producers' Cut," which is one of our most popular!

The theatrical version of the film playing now across the country is a slightly different version than what will appear in the DVD. The DVD version will contain slightly MORE information and will omit the non-essential parts of the movie.
