It is important to present "On 1", "On 2," and "Clavero" dancers positively in order to break down the barriers between dancers who prefer "On 1" versus "On 2" and "In-Clave." November 16-24, 2009 - 01) Josue and his father, Alfonso, are in studio, experimenting with some melodies and rhythms for the Part II Soundtrack. The experiment with the Guajira rhythm in a minor key, and they give birth to the new track "Inocencia: Guajira en Sol Menor" which means "Innocence: Guajira rhythm in G-Minor). The track was written to for the vocals of Co-Producer/Vocalist Raquel-Maria. October 29-November 15, 2009 - 01) Research, Study October 25-28, 2009 - 01) Producers editing footage from Orlando and Miami October 24, 2009 - 01) Producers in Miami, FL filming dancing of Miami-based dancers Ignacio & Ivette for consideration into Part II. 02) Producers also film interviews with Palladium-era dancers Joe, Iva, and Fran. October 23, 2009 - 01) Producers in Orlando, FL filming dancing of Orlando-based dancers Ricardo Uzcategui with Leonie Parker for consideration into Part II. August 14-October 22, 2009 - 01) Josue and his father, Alfonso, are in studio most of the day, experimenting with some melodies and rhythms for the Part II Soundtrack. August 14-October 21, 2009 - 01) Research, Study August 09-13, 2009 - 01) Producers editing footage from New York August 08, 2009 - 01) Producers in Brooklyn, NY filming dancing and interview of New York Dance Instructor Arelis Beato for consideration into Part II. 02) Producer invited to film New York Mambo event with Abby of Mambo Mamas - producers filmed Mambo Dance Legend Carmen Cruz, and other dancers of the Palladium-era 03) Producers also filmed dancers Jonathan & Martiza, as well as Elvis & Teresa at the same Mambo Mamas event. July - August 2009 - 01) Research, Study July 03, 2009 - 01) "El Son-Montuno" is officially given birth to for the Part II Soundtrack. The rhythm is a Son-Montuno for Cha-Cha-Cha dancing. Exec Prod Josué Joseph, composing and producing the track, hits creative block and takes break from this track, and ... 02) begins from scratch: gives birth to the second track on the soundtrack called "Guajira," obviously a track that features a Guajira rhythm for Cha-Cha-Cha dancing. 03) Joseph returns to "El Son-Montuno," and completely restructures the entire chorus lines to sound more powerful and potent. 04) Emulated piano and bass are recorded on both tracks accompanied by looped percussion - all of which will be recorded live at a later date. Tracks are expected to feature tres (or cuatro guitar), blaring trumpets, and vocals featuring Co-Producer/Vocalist Raquel-Maria who also sang in Part I soundtrack on "Vale Mas." June 25, 2009 - 01) Production resumes. 02) Producers give exclusivity to music studio in Charlottesville/Richmond area of VA for the soundtrack until end of production. June 11-25, 2009 - 01) All production postponed due to "Alfonso El Panameno" hospitalization. He recovers. May 25-June 09, 2009 - 01) Josué Joseph lays groundwork for first 2 tracks for the soundtrack by casually recording various ideas, vocalizing chorus and instruments. First track breaking for the soundtrack features a Son-Montuno, rhythm. April 17-May 19, 2009 - 01) Producers begin researching and auditioning musicians for possible consideration for the Part II soundtrack. At this time, names of some musicians being considered cannot be released, however producers expect to call back Mambo Legend Tresista Charlie Rodriguez (Johnny Pacheco). Producers are considering Yomo Toro as a feature musician. April 06-16, 2009 - 01) Footage of dancers is cut and edited, dancers are identified by name. Producers narrowed in on particular dancers they may want to feature. April 04, 2009 - 01) Dancers are auditioned and filmed for possible consideration. StuckOnSalsa Earl Rush hosts producers. March 03, 2009 - 01) "La Epoca- The Lost Rhythms in Salsa" officially breaks seed. Producers worked on initial ideas for the film and begin auditioning dancers, which will last throughout production. 02) Earl Rush of StuckOnSalsa contacted to film dancers in DC to find out who's who, for future inclusion in the film. |
