December 15, 2007 thru February 01, 2008 - 01) Dancers in Asheville were being observed for consideration of featuring any of them in the film. 02) Several negative experiences this particular evening towards one of the producers in Asheville led to a 2-month long stay-away of all appearances in Asheville and of all dancers. This actually helped event planners to prepare marketing and promotional strategies for a public filming date. The new strategies were a heavy focus on inviting dancers from outside of Asheville due to growing concerns that dancers in Asheville may be too conservative for being filmed for this movie. (Months later, producers are overjoyed that the new strategy was a successful one as most dancers who showed up and made it into the film in the South happened to be from outside of Asheville - this note added June 6, 08). December 12, 2007 - 01) Filming of dancers Freddy Rios and Mike Ramos of the Palladium Mambo Legends 02) Producers were unfortunately forced to cut ties with the lead vocalist of a band in CT for making insulting comments regarding cast members and the 2 guest musicians featured that evening.
