
| Learn how to dance AUTHENTIC Rumbero Cha-Cha-Cha on Saturday, July 26 from 2pm - 3:30pm SHARP. The Cha-Cha-Cha workshop is a full 90-minutes of dancing and learning how to dance Cha-Cha-Cha, a dance popularized during the Palladium-era in New York City. Arrive at the World Dance Center located at 3116-F Milton Road in Charlotte, NC 28215 prepared to learn how to listen to, hear, and interpret the rhythms of Latin music to improve confidence and styling on the dance floor. The Rumbero style of Cha-Cha-Cha that will be taught precedes the Ballroom version of the dance and will incorporate the moves often seen in Mambo dancing. The workshop will be taught by Special Guest Josue Joseph - the Executive Producer of the highly-anticipated movie "La Epoca - The Palladium Era," which is expected in select theaters across the nation this September!! Joseph is the son of legendary Palladium-era bassist Alfonso "El Panameno" Joseph, who performed with Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Arsenio Rodriguez, Machito and Johnny Pacheco. | Dancers of Mambo,
Salsa and Cha-Cha-Cha are being sought for the public taping
and filming of "La Epoca," being filmed on Thursday, May 22,
at Club Bongos located at 3715 E North St in Greenville, SC
starting at 10pm. Mamberos, Salseros and Chamberos
will be demonstrating their techniques and their spins, shines
and footwork to appear in the feature film production - and producers are
looking to capture some of this on film! The weekly evening event - hosted by SalsaGreenvilleSC, with dancer/instructor Susan Zaglin - a cast member of "La Epoca," and "quite a humble and very supportive individual," according to Exec Prod Josue Joseph and also "such a helpful professional who has been wonderful in promoting Latin music and dance in South Carolina," according to Project Manager Lynne Merrill. All dancers interested in attending are required to sign a Release giving producers permission to film. Photo ID is required. For the second time, producers made possible the filming at Club Cache of Mamberos, Salseros and Chamberos. We wish to thank Club Cache for their hospitality and for the second invitation! Club Cache presented a special dance performance by Palladium Mambo Legend Freddy Rios. Freddy has already been interviewed and filmed for "La Epoca," and we're filming him, again. Special Guest Speaker Executive Producer Josue Joseph present and promoted "La Epoca," the highly anticipated film of the Palladium-era, which has been the subject of much press in recent months, for the expected release in August/September 2008.
